Rating: 4/5. Solid laptop to type with, can browse the internet too! Performs better now with an SSD.
Got this ThinkPad from my partner who was going to throw this away in September, 2023.
I recently upgraded it with a SATA SSD, and it’s much more responsive! I don’t plan on upgrading it any further, I’m very happy with it’s performance now. It’s battery lasts longer than my modern laptop, an Acer Nitro 5 (I think I need a new battery for it, consistent usage for 3 years).
It runs Linux Mint XFCE, has 2gb RAM and a Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 CPU. Obviously, it only does simple tasks. The DVD drive comes in handy, and it plays DVDs well. This ole laptop helps me move stuff from my Camcorder, which writes to 8cm discs.
I use this laptop to listen to CDs, to make this website and write bits and bobs (I really like the feel of the keyboard).
Rating 3/5. Funky old camcorder, takes crunchy videos and pictures! A bit tedious to get data from...
Also got this from my partner - April, 2024. The camera works well! However, the battery is dead and the AV cable is lost - I might replace these, depends on how much I use it.
It writes to an 8cm disc and needs to be finalized before put inside a computer or DVD player, which makes the process a bit longer. As frustrating as that is, it’s still fun to learn about one of these 2000s home camcorders.
I would like to take this camera places and take pictures of outings because I like the images the camera produces. It’s not all that practical, but very nostalgic. If I don’t use it as much as I anticipate, I’m thinking of donating it to my university’s art studio so students can use it.
This camcorder was used to take pictures of my ThinkPad and DSi for this page.
Rating 5/5. My favourite handheld ever. I take it everywhere. Nice selection of games and Homebrew is easy.
August, 2021. My favourite handheld console is the Nintendo DS, and the DSi XL is perfect. Fits better in my massive hands than the smaller model and the DSi is a great generation between the DS and 3DS - still got native resolution for DS games (screw you, 3DS upscaling!), and the multimedia features of the 3DS - Camera and Sound. Speaking of camera, I used this DSi to take a picture of my camcorder.
My Game Card slot doesn’t always work well, so Homebrew helps a lot. When I’m on the go, all my games are on the SD card.
My favourite game to play is Tetris DS (finally beat the Marathon mode!) I also keep my favourite music on here and take pictures often. Can’t go to Uni without this bad boy.
